Warong Solo - Laksa Siglap

Laksa Siglap ($3.00)

My mum absolutely loves Laksa Siglap.
And I guess over the years that kind of rubbed off but I don't enjoy it as much as my mum does I reckon.

Se my darling wife and I happened to be at Geylang Serai for lunch and she decided to try the Laksa Siglap from Warong Solo. I mean, they placed TWO giant signs for the same dish so that means it's gotta be damn nice right since they're so confident?

I know what you're thinking...
From the first looks of that photo above, the laksa doesn't look like it's going to be that tasty does it.
That ring of oil around the side and the colour do not seem to appeal very much I have to admit.

But surprisingly, the taste was not too bad. I guess.
Okay maybe not really.

My darling wife says it was actually quite bad and not that tasty.
The gravy was too watery and that is probably what causes it to be rather bland.
Laksa Siglap normally has thick coconut-y gravy which should pack a real punch but this one did not.
I only had 2 or 3 spoonfuls and I had already lost interest. Needless to say my wife didn't finish it.

I'll be honest and say that I've definitely had much much better Laksa Siglap in the past but on that note I have to say that this Laksa Siglap tastes better than it looks. But then again, that doesn't mean that it tasted nice. And at $3.00, definitely not worth the price.

Maryah's Verdict:
Laksa Siglap 1/5

Adam's Verdict:
Laksa Siglap 1.5/5

Makes me kinda wary to try the other items on the menu.

    1. Wow we didn't know there was Laksa Siglap at Mukmin!
Thanks for the tip! Hopefully we get the chance to visit soon!

  2. Warong Solo's Laksa Siglap used to be very good. But not so now. Oh you must try the one from Ole Ole stall in Bedok Corner. My opinion it is better then Warong Solo.

    1. We've seen Ole Ole before! Hope we get to try it soon.
      Thanks for the tip! :)
