Krispy Kreme - New Store At Great World City!!!

Oh yeah this Christmas season keeps getting better and better!
Krispy Kreme is proud to open its 4th store located at Great World City!!

You can now enjoy your favourite doughnuts when you head down to Great World City!
Krispy Kreme's newest store boasts seating for 30 people at any one time so if you feel like having some doughnuts, coffee and a chat with some friends, this is the place!

Yeah yeah we know life's busy and doughnuts are great as an 'on-the-go' snack but it'd be nice to sit down and relax with an Original Glazed® once in awhile are we right?

Hazelnut Kreme Brulee ($2.95)

To commemorate the opening of the new store, Krispy Kreme has come up with a real mouth-watering doughnut that is gonna make a lot of you go "WOW!!"

The Hazelnut Kreme Brulee has a nutty cream filling but it's the outer layer that's gonna get you!
Caramelized sugar just like Creme Brulee!! Sounds power right!!! And apparently they are individually caramelized under a blowtorch for the desired end product!

This special creation will b available at the new Great World City store for the time being but will be available at the other Krisly Kreme stores a little later on.

Another Limited Creation from Krispy Kreme is the Kool Kreme!

Krispy Kreme Singapore: Part I

Krispy Kreme has got plenty of fans in Singapore and it's little wonder why. When they opened their first store at Tangs Orchard, it was to much fanfare! And even more joy when their 2nd store opened in the CBD!

And now, as you would probably have heard by now, Krispy Kreme Singapore is opening its 3rd store and it's going to be at Changi Airport Terminal 2! Set to open in early August!!

And to celebrate Krispy Kreme's first store in the east side of Singapore, we've decided to give a rundown on some of the staple range of doughnuts on offer! Plus it's a chance to look at some photos of some realy yummy doughuts! LOL!

And we start with what is our fave doughnut and probably the same for a lot of you as well.

Original Glaze

One of the simplest yet most delicious confectioneries on the face of this planet.
The Original Glazed from Krispy Kreme is a legend. Just a nice thin layer of sugar glaze on a super soft doughnut. No way you can go wrong. So simple and so good!

Powdered Strawberry Filled

A doughnut with Strawberry Jam filling and sprinkled with powdered sugar!
A classic for sure! They have a Blueberry version too by the way!

Chocolate Iced Glazed

Chocolate lovers looking for something simple but still getting your chocolate fix?
Well, this is the doughnut for you!

Red Velvet

 

I'm guessing this is another fan favourite. But I think most people tend to forget that this a cake doughnut so it tends to be a bit more crumbly since it's pretty much a cake. Read more about our first encounter with it HERE.

New York Cheesecake

Cream cheese filling in a doughtnut topped off with some apple crumble!
Definitely one of the more creative and tasty doughnuts on the line-up!

Chocolate Dreamcake

Another one for you chocolate lovers! Chocolate Icing with chocolate filling and chocolate shavings! No wonder they call it the Chocolate Dreamcake!

Cinnamon Apple Filled

I actually quite like this one. Maybe because I like apple fillings (like apple pie) and I also like Cinnamon too!

Krispy Kreme - Now Open In The CBD!!!

We have got some great news for all you Krispy Kreme lovers out there - especially good news if you're working in the CBD area!!

Following the opening of their first Krispy Kreme store at Tangs Orchard, a 2nd store is now open at Income at Raffles Place!!

The new store opened to much fanfare just over a week ago and the crowd was amazing! The queue snaked all the way out and around the building! Just goes to show how much we love our Krispy Kreme am I right??

And of course, Krispy Kreme tradition dictates that the 1st person in the queue wins The Golden Ticket - a year's supply of Krispy Kreme doughnuts!!

Besides the traditional Golden, Silver and Bronze Ticket winners, Krispy Kreme also decided to have a special 'Be an Office Hero' contest where the winner would get a doughnut named after them.

And the winner is the lady above named Jenny Lim!

I'm guessing everyone is going to have their favourite doughnut in this special range but I'm gonna have to go with the Double Chocolate Custard!! If you're after the ultimate Choco overload then this is the one you're looking for!!

And if you prefer something more traditional then there's always the other 16 doughnut flavours to choose from including the all-time favourite - ORIGINAL GLAZED!!

By the way, Krispy Kreme also has some delicious and refreshing beverages to go along with their delicious doughnuts. We tried the Strawberry Ice thingy and it was great!!

So whether you're there on weekdays for work or passing through on weekends, get some Krispy Kreme from the 2nd store at Income At Raffles! It's so accessible! So near the MRT!!

Krispy Kreme Singapore: Finally Certified Halal!

Just over a month ago, we asked the question on everyone's lips...
"Krispy Kreme Singapore - Halal or Not?"

Singapore Krispy Kreme announced on their Facebook page on 29th November 2013 that they had finally been certified Halal. This means that their facilities, ingredients and their Tangs outlet had been given the green light from MUIS!

Yes ah! No need to go all the way to KL to get our fix of Krispy Kreme!

Anyways this isn't a review post but more an announcement post...
There are simply too many doughnuts to go through at one go I'm afraid... But I'm sure we'll get to it...

Free doughnuts while you wait!

One of the main concerns a lot of people will have I guess is the long snaking queues you can expect when you head down to Tangs to get some Krispy Kreme.

If you're lucky, they'll start giving out free doughnuts while you wait!
(Apparently this is quite common at Krispy Kreme outlets around the world)

I heard a story that on the opening day, they gave out bottled water instead of free doughnuts and (typically) some people posted some feedback about it online. I guess they decided to please the crowds!

Chocolate Iced Glazed Sprinkles

They've got 16 types of doughnuts on offer including the all-time favourite Original Glazed and some other familiar names as well. I'm guess you'll probably see a special edition doughnut once in awhile.

But the one everyone has been talking about is...

Red Velvet

Everyone knows how popular Red Velvet anything is nowadays so what's stopping a Red Velvet doughnut from conquering out taste buds right??

So you can see how crumbly it is right?
Definitely get the Red Velvet taste but keep in mind this is not your regular doughnut - it's a cake doughnut so it's literally like a cake.

The cream cheese icing is not too strong on the cheese taste by the way.
So that's either a good point or a bad point depending on how much you like cheese.

Well anyways just keep in mind that certain doughnuts are not available here... yet.

So how much exactly will Krispy Kreme doughnuts set you back?
Well...

Original Glazed Doughnuts are $2.60 each, $23.40 for a dozen and $42.00 for a Double Dozen.
Assorted Doughnuts are $2.95 each, $26.50 for a Dozen and $47.70 for a Double Dozen.

So if you're willing to queue, you might as well make it worth your while and buy at least a dozen okay.
And here's a tip - I'm not sure if they still do it but it was applicable when we visited.
If you're okay to buy a mixed box of assorted doughnuts (which means you don't get to choose your doughnuts), you can go straight to the front of the line and just pay and get your doughnuts.
